| 2012 Recipients
The IES Illumination Awards provides a unique opportunity for public recognition of professionalism, ingenuity, and originality in lighting design based upon the individual merit of each entry judged against specific criteria.
Judges are selected from a broad professional spectrum that represents knowledge of lighting and design excellence. The judging system is based entirely on how well the lighting design does or does not meet the program criteria. This program is not a competition. The program is open to any qualified entrant without limitations as to professional affiliations. The Lighting Control Innovation Award Sponsored by Lighting Controls Association, the Guth Award for Interior Lighting Design, the Outdoor Lighting Design Award sponsored by Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Business, the Cutler Award for Residential Lighting Design and the Energy and Environmental Design Award sponsored by Osram Sylvania are parallel programs created to recognize outstanding lighting design.
The 2014 Illumination Award of Merit recipients are listed here. Congratulations to all!
An email will be sent to designers in June to order a complimentary Merit Award Certificate. You will have an option to order additional copies and frames to display your award.
All designers listed in the project submission will be contacted individually by email with a unique user id and password to access and order certificates through the online system.
If you encounter any trouble ordering your certificate please contact Jamie George at firstname.lastname@example.org
If your project name is not listed in the attached document your project did not score high enough in online judging to receive an award of Merit. If you have questions on behalf of a lighting designer for an Award of Merit, please be sure to have the project title and the design team member information handy so we can properly assist you. *Please note that no edits will be made to your award of Merit. Project titles and designers names listed in the same order on your project entry are the same manner in which they will appear on your Award of Merit Certificate. Of behalf of the IES Illumination Awards Committee thank you to all designers for your project entries.
Results from final judging is confidential until announcement at IES Annual Conference on Sunday, November 2, 2014 in Pittsburgh, PA and in the November 2014 issue of LD+A.
SECTION AWARDS AND AWARDS OF MERIT ARE NOT THE SAME:
Please note the Awards of Merit noted in the attachment above are all projects receiving this level of award (AWARD OF MERIT) based on results of the IES online IA program judging. This is a Society level award. This program recognition is separate from your local section awards program (if your section conducts a program).
Many IES Sections conduct their own SECTION
level programs and present corresponding Section awards. These are SECTION LEVEL awards and completely handled through the Section. Any information on SECTION LEVEL awards needs to be directed to the local IES Section Illumination Awards Chair. For contact information, please view the IES Section page here: http://www.ies.org/about/links_sections.cfm
All project entries, regardless of how they are recognized at the section level are included in the global pool for online judging and Award of Merit consideration.
For technical support such as uploading photos, video and narration, please contact AW SYSTEMS at email@example.com
